Abstract
The services of Scholars and Sufis were recognized later in the history of literature but now it is admitted at all the levels that the services of Scholars and Sufis are priceless in the history of Urdu Literature. Many people has dedicated their life for the betterment of literature in a specific society. Islamic Literature is also an integral part of Urdu literature. Shams Barelvi is also counted among such companions of Urdu literature. In this regard, his research work on poetry and prose has sought to promote Urdu’s traditional dimensions in the changing literary landscape of the twentieth century. Shams Brailvy died in 1997. He has followed the tradition based on Maulvi Abdul Haq. In addition, he expanded the scope of translatin by translating valuable scholarly books directly from Arabic and Persian. His writings, translations, and footnotes can be gauged from the fact that he wrote treatises on various literary, critical, and research works.
