Mir Taqi Mir is one of the leading poet of Urdu. His prose works include Faiz-i-Mir, a social history of his Era. Faiz-i-Mir compiled by Sharif Husain Qasmi has created a misunderstanding about the family affairs of Mir. This misunderstanding has been analysed in this paper in the light of historical proofs and authentic sources. This paper is also very important as this proves Mir being the father of two sons and one daughter as per historical and literary accounts.
