Abstract
Chhachhi is a dialect of the Punjabi language and is spoken in and around Attock, the North Western district of Punjab. The article gives details about the historical, geographical and linguistic characteristics of the area where Chhachhi dialect is spoken. With a brief history of the dialect in the light of historical linguistics, the article also describes some linguistic aspects of the dialect and surveys briefly the literature created in the dialect. It also gives some sample text from Chhachhi literature.
