1. The article must be unpublished and not sent to elsewhere for publication.

 ۱۔     ’’اردو‘‘ میں اشاعت کے لیے بھجوایا گیا مقالہ غیرمطبوعہ ہو اور کسی دوسرے جریدے کو اشاعت کی غرض سے نہ بھیجا گیا ہو۔

2. The article should be in A4 size, composed in both MS Word and Inpage formats. The font name should be Jameel Noori Nastaleeq and the font size 15.

۲۔    مقالہ ’’اے فور‘‘ (A4)کی تقطیع کے کاغذ پر، ’اِن پیج‘ اور Ms-Word میں ۱۵ حجم کے حروف میں کمپوز کرکے سوفٹ کاپی بذریعہ برقی ڈاک ارسال کیا جائے۔

3. The following information should be mentioned in the first page of the paper:

Full name of the writer, designation, institution, postal address, residence/ office phone number, mobile number, email address, affidavit of the paper as unpublished and copy rights.

۳۔    مقالے کے پہلے صفحے پر درجِ ذیل معلومات بالترتیب درج کی جائیں:

      مقالہ نگار کا مکمل نام، عہدہ، ادارہ، ڈاک کا پتا، گھر/ دفتر کا فون نمبر، گشتی فون نمبر، برقی ڈاک کا پتا، مقالے کے غیرمطبوعہ ہونے کا حلف نامہ اور مقالہ شائع کرنے کے جملہ حقوق کا اجازت نامہ۔

4. The title of the article in English along with Urdu, the abstract and the keywords must be given in English. Abstract should consist of 100 to 200 words.

۴۔   مقالے کا اردو کے ساتھ ساتھ انگریزی عنوان، انگریزی میں خلاصہ (Abstracts) اور کلیدی الفاظ (Keywords) بھی تحریر فرمائیں۔ خلاصہ کم از کم ۱۰۰ اور زیادہ سے زیادہ ۲۰۰ الفاظ پر مشتمل ہو۔ 

5. At the end of the paper 'footnotes' and 'reference' should be entered separately in full according to the procedure given below and the 'footnotes' and 'references' should be written in roman also, in a separate file of Ms-Word and be sent alongwith the paper.

۵۔    مقالے کے آخر میں ’حواشی‘ اور ’مآخِذ‘ علاحدہ علاحدہ مکمل طور پر ذیل میں دیے گئے طریقۂ کار کے مطابق درج کیے جائیں۔ حواشی و مآخِذ اِن پیج کے ساتھ ساتھ Ms-Word کی ایک علاحدہ فائل میں رومن میں لکھ کر مقالے کے ساتھ بھجوائے جائیں۔

6. When the name of an important person first appears in the paper mention his date of birth and date of death (as the case may be) in brackets. The names of the rulers or kings should be should be written alongwith the period of his reign.

۶۔    مقالے میں جب پہلی بار کسی اہم شخصیت کا نام آئے تو قوسین میں اس کی تاریخِ پیدائش اور تاریخِ وفات (حسبِ موقع) درج کیجیے۔ حکمران یا بادشاہ کے تذکرے کی صورت میں دورِ حکومت کے سنین لکھے جائیں۔

7. Western authors/ books’ names must be given in Roman script in brackets along with Urdu.

۷۔    مغربی یا انگریزی مصنّفین/ کتب کے نام اردو کے ساتھ قوسین میں رومن حروف میں بھی درج کیے جائیں۔

8. Submit your paper through your own email ID.

۸۔    اپنا مقالہ صرف اپنے برقی پتے (ای میل) سے ارسال کیجیے۔ 

9. All papers published in URDU can be read and downloaded for free.

۹۔    ’’اردو‘‘ میں شائع ہونے والے تمام مقالات بلاقیمت پڑھے اور ڈاؤن لوڈ کیے جاسکتے ہیں۔ 

10. If pictures, maps or diagrams are included in the paper, their references should be clearly and appropriately listed. Images and maps for which all rights are reserved, permission should be sought from the concerned persons / institutions to be cited in the Citation.

۱۰۔    مقالے میں اگر تصاویر، نقشے یا ڈایا گرامز شامل کی گئی ہیں تو ان کے حوالے  واضح اور مناسب انداز میں درج کیے جائیں۔ ایسی تصاویر ونقشے جن کے جملہ حقوق محفوظ ہوں تو متعلقہ افراد/ادارے سے اجازت لی جائے جس کا حوالہ Citation میں دیا جائے۔ 

Urdu is a half-yearly research journal. It is published online twice a year, on 30th June and 31st December. Efforts should be made to send research papers for publication in the first issue (Jan-Jun) by March 31 and for the second issue (Jul-Dec) by September 30.

اردو شش ماہی  تحقیقی جریدہ ہے۔ یہ سال میں دو مرتبہ، ۳۰؍ جون اور ۳۱؍ دسمبر کو آن لائن شائع کیا جاتا ہے۔ کوشش کی جائے کہ ’’اردو‘‘ کے پہلے شمارے (جنوری۔ جون) میں اشاعت کے لیے تحقیقی مقالے ۳۱؍ مارچ جب کہ دوسرے شمارے (جولائی۔ دسمبر) کے لیے ۳۰؍ ستمبر تک ارسال کر دیے جائیں۔
