The primary objective of URDU is the promotion and preservation of Urdu language and literature. The journal publishes high-quality research covering a broad spectrum of literary and linguistic topics, as well as relevant interdisciplinary and academic discourses.

As a bi-annual, peer-reviewed, and indexed journal, URDU maintains rigorous international research standards. Our publication criteria are designed to ensure that the research contributes meaningfully to the academic community, meeting the requirements for faculty career advancement (BPS/TTS) and fulfilling the research criteria for M.Phil and Ph.D. candidates.

’’اردو‘‘ کے مقاصد اور دائرہ کار میں اردو زبان و ادب کی ترویج شامل ہے۔ اس جریدے میں شائع ہونے والے مقالات اردو زبان و ادب سے متعلق موضوعات کے ایک وسیع سلسلے کے ساتھ ساتھ دیگر بین العلومی اور علمی مباحث کا احاطہ کرتے ہیں۔ ’’اردو‘‘ ایک شش ماہی، ہم مرتبہ تبصرہ شدہ (Peer-reviewed) اور اشاریہ شدہ (Indexed) جریدہ ہے۔

مجلّہ ’’اردو‘‘ کی اشاعت میں بین الاقوامی تحقیقی معیارات کی مطابقت پر خاص زور دیا جاتا ہے، تاکہ اس میں شائع ہونے والے مقالات پیشہ ورانہ ترقی (BPS/TTS) کے ساتھ ساتھ ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی کی ڈگریوں کے حصول میں معاون ثابت ہوسکیں۔
