Dr Jameel Jalibi, who recently passed away, was one of the most respected researchers of Urdu. His research work on Dakani literature was truly pioneering in certain respects. The author in this article has succinctly discussed almost the entire research works by Jalibi with special emphasis on Dakani and its literature. The author has also compared the previous research works carried out by other towering personalities and has concluded that the works on Dakani by Jalibi are far more comprehensive, profound and detailed.
