Abstract
Josh Maleehabadi (1898-1982) was one of the Urdu poets known for their wit, linguistic acumen and poetic talent. He wrote letters in large numbers and these letters are full of witty and philosophic musings on literature and language. But Josh’s letters so far published do not include many important letters addressed to some towering personalities. One such personality and a close friend of Josh was Sibt-e-Hasan (1916-1986). At Karachi’s Ghalib Library many rare and unpublished letters written by some prominent literary figures are preserved. The writer, having obtained seven such letters by Josh, has reproduced them here with annotations and explanatory notes.
