Editorial is an innate domain of a newspaper but Urdu literature has a brief history of literary editorials written by stalwarts such as Maulvi Abdul Haq, Abdul Majeed Salik and Zafar Ali Khan. The present era depicts a story of editorials in such a new way. Many research journals of Urdu have been published with the editorials and the authentic journal from University of Karachi, Department of Urdu, Imtezaaj has its own tradition for subject, analytical style and presentation in editorial writing.

This research article critically discussed the art of editorial writing with special attention to the editorials of Imtezaaj from Vol. 1 to 4.
