Abstract
Asif Farrukhi was a well known fiction writer. He belonged to the generation that emerged on literary scenario in the second last decade of the twentieth century. The writer establishes the point in this critical study of Asif's short stories that he focused life with all its social, political, religious and cultural aspects in urban and rural Sindh both. He artistically describes the issues being faced by a common man in the society through the characters of his stories. He relates his characters to tendencies and behaviors which formulate the society of Sindh. Characters and situation presented in his short stories both are well designed and well knitted too. Cultural and social experiences of the life in Sindh are foremost ingredients of Asif Farrukhi's creative expressions.
