Abstract
There has been a tradition of the concept of love continuing in Persian and Urdu literatures since old ages to modern times. It is due to its confidential affairs of love that the concept is highlighted differently in the poetry of Persian and Urdu poets. According to critics, though Mir learned a lot from the poetry of Saadi, personal experiences and observations are commonly found in the poetry of the two in relation to the concept of love.
In view of Saadi and Mir, love is a precious pearl of life. In the eyes of both, love is a gift of God. The man in its search passes through thick and thin of life and becomes pure gold. In the poetry of Saadi and Mir, the states of real and metaphorical loves are connected with the view of their civilizations. In the lover of Saadi and Mir, the restlessness and eagerness keep him steadfast in the testing time of separation with the beloved. The expanse of the concept of love and its variation has been made part of this scholarly paper.
First time, a comparative analysis of different aspects of the concept of love in the poetry of the two poets is being presented in this paper with respect to beauty, real and metaphorical love, hope and disappointment, universe, beloved, lover and meanings.
An important part of this paper is an analysis of similar and different topics treated by Saadi and Mir.
