Abstract
Shaukat Thanvi and Syed Muhammad Jafri are the most eminent humorists of Urdu language. They both, began writing and recognised their selves in the pre-independence era. Although, their main pivot of prose and poetry writing was humor, but they also wrote marsiyas of a valuable worth in account of Urdu marsiya. In this research paper, an attempt has made to anylise the different dimensions of their marsiyas. Their marsiyas contain all the essential elements which represent a literary blend of traditional and modern marsiyas.
