Abstract
This paper not only analyses the types of synonyms in Urdu, their semantic diversity, and breadth of meaning, but also focuses on their linguistic structure and cultural significance. Urdu, which has deep connections with the influences of Persian, Arabic, and Turkish, is rich in vocabulary and synonyms that encompass the beauty and multifaceted aspects of its meanings and concepts. A semantic analysis of classical and contemporary texts, along with an examination of synonym dictionaries in Urdu, sheds light on how the use of synonyms in Urdu expresses semantic context, impression, and cultural heritage within a sentence, and how it contributes to making the language multidimensional.
