Abstract
William Shakespeare is considered the greatest writer not only of England but of the whole world. Drama is his special field. He has created unparalleled and timeless masterpieces in all types of dramas, including comedy, tragedy, historical, and romantic. Romeo and Juliet is one of the plays written in the early period. Despite its artistic status, it is considered one of Shakespeare's best and most popular plays. This is a tragedy of love, a tragedy that transforms hatred into love by sacrificing itself. The author has revealed various human natures through character development and has left many messages for the readers. The drama's style is poetic and full of lyricism. Most of the dialogues are in the form of poems. Examples of the syllabus, sonnet, elegy (wedding song), and dawn songs are found everywhere in Romeo and Juliet. In addition to his unique similes and metaphors, Shakespeare has used the common similes of his time in such a unique way that they represent symbolic meanings very effectively. However, at some places, ambiguity and clumsiness are also visible, the coloration also feels excessive, the metaphors also become confused, but no one wants to give importance to all of them.
