Abstract
Faraib-un-nisa is a versified work of fiction written by Khuda Bakhsh Ghareeb. Published in 1870, its various versions are found, as mentioned by Francis Pritchett .Narrating the love story of its three characters, Barman Shah, Rani Bakhtar and Chhabilya Bhatyari, the work has some rare Urdu vocabulary and 'some rites and rituals of Hindus', as put by the poet himself. This article introduces and reproduces the authentic text of this rare work and gives a brief glossary of words rarely used. The text is composed in Urdu orthography in vogue these days.
