Abstract
Khwaja Meer Dard is a renowned Urdu classical poet. His concise poetry collection is of great importance. But its repeated printing has caused to bring into its text a lot of mistakes. Criticism and research on this text have always been a need of the time. To fulfill this requirement in Pakistan, Dewan-e-Dard, edited by Khalil-ur-Rehman Dawoodi, and in India Dewan-e-Dard, edited by Dr. Ahmad Nasim, have been published. These publications fulfill the requirements of criticism and research to some extent. In this article, analytical examination of the above mentioned manuscripts has been presented. The works of both editors have been examined separately. In the article, method of editing and tools for research have also been explained in detail. Moreover, the manuscripts have also been ranked.
